University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

I've got mine.

Have you come to grips with being let go by UNC?

I am very thankful.

Like, you know, one of the unfortunate things for me is um my best friend i had great parents and i lost my mom when i was 16 of cancer and she was my best friend and unfortunately at a very young age i realized that You know, things don't go particularly the way that you want it to go.

You played in the NBA.

I played in the NBA.

You coached at UNC, which arguably is one of the three or four best programs in the country.

How do you shield your kids? How do you shield your kids away from – we had Ryan Day on the podcast last year, and he talked about it.

We'll talk about that game with our next guest, but first and foremost, let's welcome him in.

Let's be cordial to Ian Fitzsimmons, who will be down in lovely Chapel Hill tonight as UNC takes on Miami.

I got a weird feeling.

No, you're a professional.

I mean, Derek McDonald's a pretty damn good linebacker.

You know, you got, you know, a Bougie day coming off the edge.

He's, he's a, you know, late day two type talent, number nine for UNC.

So they're, they are better.

I'll quickly go through the other two guys that I have here.

Derek Dixon I don't think is yet a guy, but he had a pretty good freshman year at UNC as he kind of like slowly earned a bigger role.

He had a 2.4 assist to turnover ratio and shot 43% on catch and shoot shots.

He's not a very good athlete.

The fraternity remains on interim suspension while the university conducts their criminal investigation.

The search for UNC football new general manager.

And so our news gathering partners at the News and Observer Report document show consultant Sean McGee is handling many of the duties of an interim GM.

Though neither university or Bill Belichick are using that title, McGee is helping with roster building, transfer portal strategy, and recruiting while the program searches for a permanent hire.

Campbell has their best ranking ever, and they have a top 25 matchup on the road in New York.

NC Central has a MEAC tilt with Howard at two and in primetime right here on ABC 11.

Number one, Miami visits UNC.

Well, we want you to have fun this Halloween, of course, but we want you to be safe.

Anything early Jordan is hot right now.

REA is going to have three very cool tickets coming up in the fall auction dating to Jordan's time at UNC.

We have a ticket to the second game Jordan ever played at UNC.

We have a ticket to the blue and white scrimmage that he played his freshman year.

and a ticket to an exhibition game against Yugoslavia that he played in college.

Now, did you get those graded, or are they raw that's run in?

We got them graded.

So they came to us raw from a consigner in North Carolina, right in the UNC backyard.

So definitely a good opportunity there.

Then kind of one you're really want to pay attention to, of course, is UNC and Miami, uh, Want to see what the Canes look like again.

Last week, they blew out Pittsburgh.

How do they look again against the good UNC team? A better than expected North Carolina team in Chapel Hill.

Missouri and Arkansas, good old battle of the Ozarks.

Washington, Nebraska is kind of an intriguing game there.

Before her nonprofit leadership role in Buffalo, she lived in rural North Carolina where she worked in public health.

A graduate of Clarence High School, Tuft earned her undergraduate degree in biological sciences and English from the University at Buffalo before completing her master's degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Although she was new to municipal government, Tufts said she is enjoying the opportunity to learn how the village operates and take on projects that can make a tangible difference for the residents.

There is a lot to learn, she said, noting that village clerk Maureen Jirakis has been an invaluable resource in helping her understand municipal operations, procedures, and regulations.

They're going to be going against USC, unranked.

By the way, UNC is also unranked, but those games, you know, are going to get a lot of attention.

That game is also a night game when the Buckeyes go out to take on the Trojans at 7.30.

Number three, Georgia, going to host unranked Florida, but Florida's already been a spoiler this year.

Had a tuxedo New York.

Suffering high school in the University of North Carolina.

It's two nothing Dodgers.

Top of the second.
