University High School

Just wish we had a little bit better weather, weather for it.

I can't seem to get a Huntington game that isn't a little wet, um, of late, even dating back to, to their playoff loss to University last year.

But maybe one of these weeks we'll get, uh, some nice bright fall weather, a nice cool night without it being so wet.

It, uh, ought to be a good one either way.

You know, but I, I, I've been around Huntington long enough now.

I did graduate from Cabell Midland, but I spend more time in Huntington now than I do, uh, at Cabell Midland.

So if I needed to suck up to anybody, I might just throw my University of Tennessee quarter zip on and go talk to Billy Fields.

Uh, and that might, that might put me back in the good graces.

Hurricane defended their title at the state golf tournament in Wheeling in dominating fashion on Tuesday.

The SSAC rankings for week number seven are out.

Quad A, GW is number one, followed by Martinsburg, University, Morgantown, and Huntington, top five.

Six through ten, Cabo Midland, Spring Mills, Parkersburg, Musselman, and Beckley.

Eleven through sixteen, Wheeling Park, Washington, Jefferson, Preston, Buchanan, Upshur, and Riverside.

Three high school football teams are off to 6 and 0 starts this season.

Sissonville joins University and Wahama in that group, and the Indians have already exceeded their win total from all of last season.

Mikey Hughes is in his second season leading Sissonville, and he expected continued improvement after winning four out of their last six games a year ago.

It's really great to see those kids, um, never give up.

It just didn't go anywhere.

Skylar was an honor student at University High School in Mongoli- I think it's Monongalia County-

Mm-hmm

... and wanted to become a criminal defense attorney.

After her mother remarried in 2010-

Mm

... she and her mother moved to Blacksville, from Blacksville, sorry, to Morgantown, West Virginia, where Shelia was then able to start attending University High School alongside Skylar.

Hmm.

So the three game winning streak for the Big Reds comes to a crashing stop tonight.

Number 3, University High, at home in the drizzle at Mylan Pharmaceutical Stadium, UHS a 25-point winner over Linsley, 31 to 6.

Number 4, Martinsburg, shuts out Musselman 61 to nothing to improve to 5 and 0.

Number 5, Huntington, Billy Seals, Highlanders get the bell by shutting out Capital 51 to nothing.
