I believe this particular live stream had one question to answer, and I think it answered it pretty distinctly.
Analytic DreamzHOST
13:42
Drake is still beefing with UMG.
speaker_5SOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
13:45
You guys.
speaker_5SOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
13:46
See, that's the problem.
Analytic DreamzHOST
13:50
That's the biggest takeaway that I got out of this YouTube live stream.
Analytic DreamzHOST
13:53
Drake versus UMG is the biggest thing in the music industry right now because if Drake goes independent, what's stopping him from getting what EA has been receiving as far as specifically, because you know we cover gaming and music and I love when both tie in, right? So, Saudi specifically, right? EA sold for $55 billion to Jared Kushner and Saudi investors.
Analytic DreamzHOST
14:16
I covered that October 8th, 2025.
Analytic DreamzHOST
14:19
Now, the reason why I bring that up in the midst of a musical discussion is because in the music sense, what's stopping an overseas investor from just taking Drake under their wing and now Drake's independent? I think that's what UMG is kind of seeing because if you notice, comedians are taking bags from certain places, I don't know if it was Saudi as well, and they just seem to have a well of money that's just pouring in, right? It doesn't seem like it's running out anytime soon.
MalHOST
11:51
So the full stream is not available yet on his YouTube?
Rory FarrellHOST
11:54
No, and, and, and I don't know if it's UMG.
Rory FarrellHOST
11:56
A lot of people have been getting strikes for it.
Rory FarrellHOST
11:59
Like, I can't even find a, a bootleg version of it.
Andrew WalkerHOST
28:45
It's a very sticky subscription that's like on the front of my phone.
Andrew WalkerHOST
28:49
And I passed because at the time, you know, this is when Ackman was taking UMG public through PSTA and all this sort of stuff.
Andrew WalkerHOST
28:58
I passed because at the time I was also doing work in the music labels and all the music label bulls I talked to were saying Spotify is we're going to run over Spotify in the long term.
Andrew WalkerHOST
29:08
And I disagreed, but I was having that like imposter syndrome was like, man, if everybody who studies music labels tells me Spotify is in trouble.

7 MINS LATER

Andrew WalkerHOST
36:36
They don't even need to do it.
Andrew WalkerHOST
36:37
You know, wink, wink, nudge.
Andrew WalkerHOST
36:39
If they start putting you on the front page or, you know, UMG, you've given us some problems, all right, we're going to go have Warner is going to be in all of our playlists and everything.
Andrew WalkerHOST
36:46
Like, they've got a lot of ability to shift really quickly and without people even knowing they're doing it.
Justin HunteHOST
5:26
Clip is gone, it had been completely removed by Universal Music Strike, well, Music Strike, that's how I feel about them right now.
Justin HunteHOST
5:33
Universal Music Group, and they gave the Clip's channel a copyright strike.
Justin HunteHOST
5:37
Nah, I didn't like that at all.
Justin HunteHOST
5:38
I ain't like that at all.
Dan RuncieHOST
16:59
But it brought more of the challenges up to light.
Dan RuncieHOST
17:03
And a lot of the questions that people have had specifically is Universal Music Group and Warner by extension, but are these the type of companies that want to operate like publicly traded companies in a way that Wall Street would want, whether you're setting yourself up for the type of quarterly growth that you had referred to.
Dan RuncieHOST
17:22
And I know that Will had spoke to a lot of this on stage.
Dan RuncieHOST
17:26
I'm curious, going back to the other question, were there any discussions that were happening in the room that weren't conversations that were reflected on stage? Maybe they complimented or maybe they were just a little bit different from what we had heard on stage.
Dan RuncieHOST
20:22
Thank you again to Tati for joining me.
Dan RuncieHOST
20:24
Thank you to everyone that made the Trapital Summit possible.
Dan RuncieHOST
20:27
Thank you to our gold partners, Symphonic, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group.
Dan RuncieHOST
20:32
Thank you to our silver partners as well, Dream Street, Influr, Sharp Metric, and SoundCloud.
Edo SegalHOST

Edo SegalHOST
2:28
El caso de fondo continúa.
Steph FlorianHOST
13:02
Yeah, so how have you brought those artists under that collective? How has that manifested?
Elliot C. WayGUEST
13:07
Me and Bob, mostly, and then we brought in our good friend Nick Lawton, who used to work for Universal Music, and... yeah we just kind of were acting as a record label and we just a lot of the people that we work with are already part of the scene um and then you know as we've discovered incredible artists that have entered the community in the scene we've tried to do our best to foster their exposure and support them in different ways and just promote them.
Elliot C. WayGUEST
13:49
We do a lot of shows like this coming Saturday we have our big Vogue show, Hot Country Night Out, which is...
Elliot C. WayGUEST
13:58
Hot?
Jason DeFillippoHOST

Brian SchulmeisterHOST
44:57
Well, Universal Music Group and ElevenLabs have announced a new multi-year licensing agreement and wider strategic collaboration that will see them launch a new AI-powered licensed music platform.
Brian SchulmeisterHOST
45:08
The deal with UMG is the first that ElevenLabs has cut with a major label, and the new platform will be distinct from its ElevenMusic AI music generation software.
Brian SchulmeisterHOST
45:16
The two companies also intend to collaborate on new AI audio products that can be used by artists, EM- UMG wrote in a press release.
Hasan PikerHOST
29:00
It is ridiculous.
Hasan PikerHOST
29:01
The CEOs on Universal Music are Jewish? Okay.
Hasan PikerHOST
29:04
So what? Again, going back to the Kanye experience here.
Hasan PikerHOST
29:07
Do they care about Jews? Do they care about anti-Semitism? Or do they care about Israel? Do they care about their investments in the state of Israel? That's the point.
Duncan GreenGUEST
2:59
Yeah, so she's a backer and she's announced that she will come to the platform.
Duncan GreenGUEST
3:03
We're in conversations, very extensive conversations with her label, Universal Music.
Duncan GreenGUEST
3:08
We're very confident of getting to a deal, but they're a giant organization and We know that that will happen, but we're also very keen to make the terms for a small New Zealand indie like Winegum Records the same as for the biggest label in the world, and we're pretty firm on that.
Duncan GreenGUEST
3:28
So far we've been able to stick to it, and we would really like to.
