current state representative and candidate for re-election of Charlestown, Unity, and Newport.

We have Terry Spilsbury.

How are you? Very good, Steve.

And in my first term, I represented Charlestown only in a seat that was dedicated to Charlestown.

And then after the redistricting that was passed in 2021, I ran for reelection in 22 in this new seat.

that has three representatives for three towns, Newport, Unity, and Charlestown.

So two terms in this district.

Exactly.

So, state representative, you're running for re-election, and the towns are Plainfield, Cornish, Unity, Charlestown, and Newport, correct? That's correct, yeah.

How many years have you been doing this? I got elected in 2022 and 2024.

Okay.

Yeah, and that's what the next term is for.

Plainfield, Cornish, Charlestown, Unity, and Newport, the election is less than four weeks away now.

That's correct.

I've tried to fight for our local communities as well.

I know in Unity, you may remember 10, 15 years ago, the Unity School.

The state wanted to close it because of fire reasons, basically.

And, I mean, it's a long story, and I don't want to get into who's to blame and everything.

But the state basically – and I had to work together with my colleagues, including former Representative Joe Osgood and Ray Gagnon.

We had to work with the fire marshal, the State Department of Education, and we got them to help modify – the school to keep it in compliance for a while, but the Unity School District were under a lot of pressure.

And they were, you know, they did not want to close the Unity School.

They did not want to send their kids to Marlow, for example, which is in Cheshire County.
