And there's some really serious people.

They did all the mail fraud prosecutions back when the mails were used a lot.

We have every, we have th- that kind of range here, right? So it's, uh, it's, it's for everyone and anybody.

We actually have two law enforcement agencies that are dedicated to postal law enforcement.

We have the United States Postal Inspection Service, who are incredible, and they are going after these bad guys aggressively.

There's other law enforcement agencies going after them also, FBI and a bunch of other ones that will get involved depending on the circumstance.

And then there's also the other postal law enforcement agency we have here.

Shit.

Now he wants to carve his name on the front of the old, uh, USPIS building, so it's just ridiculous.

Uh, can we talk about the irony that he wants to carve his name on the front of a piss building?

[laughs] It's the Peace Institute, but yeah.

But in 2004, things took a very, very dark and twisted turn.

In June of 2004, the United States Postal Inspection Service and Internal Revenue Service began an investigation into an illegal prostitution business being run in Washington, DC.

According to a 2007 article published in The Guardian, Deborah first knew something was wrong while she was on a trip to Germany, a trip on which suddenly her bank card stopped working.

Then shortly afterwards, a journalist from a gossip website called her on the phone, reporting that he had recently been leaked a court document detailing Deborah's alleged sex empire in Washington, DC, serving the rich and powerful with a ring of beautiful, university-educated call girls.

During the course of the investigation, Deborah was identified as the operator of the prostitution ring, a ring which she reportedly ran by phone out of her homes in Vallejo and Escondido in California.

And as a result, her escort agency closed in August of 2006.

In October of 2006, two months later, agents with the United States Postal Inspection Service posed as a couple who were interested in buying Deborah's home as a means of accessing her property without a warrant.

Deborah reported on a TV interview that on the 3rd of October 2007, this fake couple had called her realtor asking to see her house, but were declined.

Case closed.

That's like February 2010, Justice Department, FBI, United States Postal Inspection Service, all of them, they formally closed the investigation.

The worst biological attack in U.S. history.

However... you may have noticed it's not a ton.

So one of the questions that I really wanted to ask while I'm here at the IFCI is why the IFCI? Like what what makes you come back every year? I know that you're also on the advisory board, but what specifically just draws you into the IFCI?

Well, a little history for at least our agency, the Postal Inspection Service.

We have always had a really good relationship with the IFCI just because of the people involved.

We are a pretty small agency, 2,000, and that's not all investigators.
