United States House Permanent Select Committee on Aging

We have, you know, Sam Rayburn was Speaker well into his late 70s.

Um, Claude Pepper, right, super is Fl- uh, Floridian, um, in his late 70s and 80s, right? And he ultimately, um, he chaired, ironically, the, the House Select Committee on Aging, but he also chaired the Rules Committee into the '80s.

He died in office at 88, but he was a champion of things like Social Security, Medicare, et cetera.

I mean, Strom Thurmond was basically, like, one of the early figures from the Bible.
