Closer to home, the November US Chess Rating Supplement arrived with 1,320,281 names on the rating list.

That's 5,873 more than the October list.

Among top 100 players, the biggest regular rating move was on the women 50-plus list.

But fortunately, you You know, scholastic chess really kind of saved chess.

I mean, I think had there not been all the growth in scholastic players and new players coming in, I mean, I think, I don't have the numbers, but I think membership with USCF was down pretty low for a while before the younger players started coming in.

... it's, it's really, if, if you haven't been, uh, going to an event like the US Championship or the Sinquefield Cup, uh, or the, you know, the US Seniors and Juniors, uh, you know, th- this year for the first time they had the senior women there, which was, uh, really important, I think, for US Chess.

Uh, you know, by all means, get there for a big event.

US Chess newly rated 106 events across 29 states.

The largest was the 345-player Hunter October Tournament in New York.

Next came the 194-player Eastern Class Championship in Windsor-Lox, Connecticut.

Closer to home, US Chess newly rated 37 events across 24 states.

The largest was the five-year anniversary event in Chesterfield, Missouri, with 50 players.

At a 45-player Albuquerque Chess Club event, the number 58 on the U.S.

And, uh, basically, he's teaching these inmates how to play, and so they're unrated and inexperienced.

So he starts m- obtaining USCF memberships for them.

I'm actually getting my small R licensing accreditation with USCF.

I only have like a few days left of apprenticing.

I've met all my requirements.

They call it reclassification.

Amateur reclassification.

So it's a whole thing with USCF.

You don't just click a button.
