essentially, after somebody asks for protection from the first official they come into contact with, which it could be CBP or Border Patrol, then they come to an asylum officer who does a screening interview with them to see if... their case appears to meet an initial threshold.

So it's a screening to see if they can move on to a full asylum hearing.

So what the officer is looking at is their eligibility under the law.

And then defensive is where they are in removal proceedings.

And that's typically expedited removal, which is when somebody comes into the country and And then they've been found to, like, be inadmissible.

You know, often the scenario either where they've crossed the border and encountered Border Patrol and asked for asylum, and they don't have, you know, a visa or other documents, or they come to the border and request asylum at a port of entry to a CBP officer, which absolutely happens, even at airports too, right? Like, people fly into the airport.

Yesterday, as a final act of defiance and resistance, Greene forced another vote of articles of impeachment against Trump, this time focused on ICE and Border Patrol being operated as what he called vicious, quota-driven, unaccountable paramilitary police forces.
