Worlds are at war in this...

We have a similar idea of any time there's been a reboot of Losh, Legion of Superheroes.

While Buzz and Happy were exploring space near the star Vega, their star drive ship was halted by a strange craft.

They were boarded by a man named Erdo, who told them of an interstellar organization called the Galaxy Trade Association, and urged the commander to bring the United Planets into the agreement.

When Buzz refused to consider the proposition, Erdo broke down and admitted that the commander's suspicions were correct, that the association was a ruthless combine, bent upon enslaving the inhabitants of all planets in the galaxy.

Blasting away from the other ship, Buzz and Happy returned Erdo to his home planet, America, in the Radmos star system.

They've got a big thing at the beginning.

So part of the basic gist of this is that Using superpowers to fight crime is outlawed unless you are part of the persuaders, who are the official United Planets sort of enforcers.

They've got the ax, they've got a mask that they wear over their face, so they're sort of a kind of stormtrooper.

And they not only hunt down people with powers and enforce law enforcement too, but unfortunately, if people witness them not winning because the part of it is no one escapes the persuaders no one can you know get away from them so if there's witnesses that see somebody get away they have to kill them so that the word doesn't doesn't get out that's the way you stay all powerful is by making sure if you're not all powerful everyone still thinks you are and one of them has wings and we're sort of led to believe that it might be dawn star but it's tough to tell because we haven't seen their face yet So you can have powers and be a persuader.

Page one, and we, uh, we have on an Omnicom, the pers- uh, or whatever their version is of it, um, 'cause they haven't named them since, since restarting, the, uh, a page of the Persuader manual.

And it says, um, "It is the, the role of the Persuaders to enforce the law on any United Planets worlds and beyond.

To ensure the safety of the citizens of yesterday, uh, of today, we will use the methods of yesterday, no matter how primitive." And you can see that this thing's k- kinda glitching because, like, the word is, the word know is highlighted like somebody...

Anyway.

[laughs]

"Their teeth can chew through nearly all matters known..." Matters? "...

known to the United Planets.

They are extremely fast and agile." Well, that's good to know.

But I think this is one where he, he sowed a seed that, you know, sadly I don't think got picked up until five years later, oddly enough.

But the seed is there of, you know, Impsk is kind of a more interesting planet than we think it is, and it's not just this idyllic, uh, oh, yeah, we love the United Planets and everything's good.

We get the sense that there might be some problems.

And it's a really good, it's a really good twist for the character, which, which I, which I do like.

Brainiac then goes to explain a little bit.

A lost Kryptonian colony, self-designate Argo, applied for membership to the United Planets.

Wait, lost colony? If their records prove accurate, I believe you have a direct hand in their formation.

The Kandorians.

I don't like this story.

[laughs] You saved your race, Kal-El, gave them a second chance.

What happened with their membership to the United Planets? They were declined.

Too young, they were told.

Brainiac hacks into the science police information and discovers that Brand was researching something called the Legion, as well as superheroes generally.

Tenzel is astonished because the United Planets outlawed superpowers to fight crime ever since the Great Disaster, unquote.

But that doesn't stop Garth Ranz from using his lightning powers to fight crime on Wyneth.

His sister Aayla chides him for wanting to be a superhero like their older brother Mekt, and for believing that Superboy was even real.

Yeah.

Totally the same thing.

I found it interesting, though, speaking of superheroes, Tenzel's comment about the United Planets, it says, specifically says, the UP outlawed superpowers to fight crime ever since the Great Disaster.

So they didn't just outlaw the use of superpowers? It's just people who want to fight crime? Vigilantes? Yeah.
