The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii's 37th Great Hawaiian Rubber Ducky Race is about to take place.

We've got John Nishida, who is here to tell us all about it.

Aloha, Kanoa.

Okay.

Well, it's the 37th annual race.

It's a fundraiser, the quackiest fundraiser in Hawaii, and it's a fundraiser for United Cerebral Palsy.

We are a Hawaii nonprofit since, uh, for 67 years, since 1959.

Her hair and smile were having a contest, of which could be bigger, and she had kind of an East Coast look, resembling Edie Falco.

It's reported that after graduating high school, she got a job as a secretary for the United Cerebral Palsy Association.

She held that job until August of 1989, when her migraine headaches caused her to miss so much work that she eventually had to quit.

For the next two months, her mother was helping her look for another secretary job.

wins a case of tasty cake and one for United Cerebral Palsy Association of Philadelphia.

Schmidt now with 31 RBIs, and that'll put him right up near the league lead in that category.

[chuckles] Started out as a preschool teacher, Head Start, did that for about five years.

Then I was the disabilities coordinator for a interactive children's museum, taking artifacts to places like United Cerebral Palsy, to hospitals, places where children with disabilities would find it difficult to get to a museum.

Um, working with children with all types of disabilities.

And then I, I did a project in conjunction with an advocacy organization, and they liked me, I liked them.

I'm gonna share some resources right now that are available here in Northeast Ohio on the topic of child development.

Associate Professor of Communication Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, Helen Long, is teaming up with LeafBridge and the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland group to provide free developmental screenings for children ages zero to three.

So we wanna let you know about this because the event is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19th.

That's from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and that's taking place in Case Western's Communication Sciences building.
