Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/30/26
J
34:56Jim CramerHOST
Honestly, I do think it's an intriguing story down here.
J
34:59Jim CramerHOST
Reformation as a model, it's reminiscent of the fast fashion brands a lot of people like to talk about, Zara, H&M, Uniqlo, but higher quality and with a sustainability kicker.
J
35:07Jim CramerHOST
At the same time, they seem to have a devoted customer base to the point where they don't need to do a lot of discounting to get rid of fash- just excess inventory.
J
35:16Jim CramerHOST
Very rare for fashion companies.
AI Is Booming — So Why Isn’t Crypto? #128

Yeah,

and they will now like it just it's dramatic in the same way of like consumer trends your ability to if you're a retailer Zara built one of largest H&M czar and Uniqlo are massive companies because they're fast fashion and what they had was teams that were like on the ground listening to consumer preferences and tick-tock and like shipping fast well now 3d printing and fast manufacturing and ai will like do this just faster so how many consumer brands are going to like really spun out because of that that's just one area but healthcare is the one that really excites me because that's an area where like you've had a lot of bad human judgment you've had mistakes happening in clinical trials you've had doctors making mistakes because they're tired simple stuff like i was looking at like veterinary clinics as an example you know just like Introducing a scribing AI to make sure it takes notes it records with a doctor once you make sure that you fill the actual drug You know you know how many lives are lost because like the doctor's handwriting is not legible and you can't like or like a nurse comes into a room and doesn't have context and some of the other medications that the patient's taking and then like mistakenly gives that patient a wrong dose and like it's crazy isn't it you mean like this is the kind of shit like that we should be talking about not there's a 10% probability that the AI gets access to nuclear codes and we're all going to get fucked.
S
44:10Santiago Roel SantosGUEST
You know what I mean? For someone that is so on the frontier, he should have an appreciation of how some of the larger companies are going to start using this.
S

And so my bet is I'm super long healthcare.
119. *Preview* Kurb, The Endless Archive Designer Search Feed (FULL EPISODE ON PATREON AND SUBSTACK)
A

But I think the really distinctive element about Curb is that we're really focused on designer archival clothing.
A
0:14AliGUEST
So you'll never find or we don't try to index like H&M, Zara, Uniqlo, Shein or anything like that.
A
0:22AliGUEST
We're really focused on catering to someone who's looking for like gucci by tom ford or celine by phoebe filo or gwee or jeffrey b small so a very like focused kind of designer nerd um and to kind of cater there we've i think we've done really well as well as our coverage so you on curb you'll find today like this day collective depop ebay etc but you'll also find hundreds of other super niche stores like the other week i added a turkish marketplace called dulap or something um which is kind of like turkish ebay and then we've got like austrian ebay there's like there's hundreds of these like really niche marketplaces that we we scour and particularly in japan i mean that market's always been like really good fruit for a cover designer yeah And maybe the last I could say that's kind of our core distinction is, I think with Curb giving us surveillance of the ecosystem, what's been really nice is kind of building market transparency.
A
1:25AliGUEST
So, for example, maybe you're looking for a really particular Marie Francis Drabow jacket or something or Katherine Hammond.
K
3:46Kat KnoxHOST
It is kind of like... pulling from too much and i think it's nice to have that curation there'll be a part of it even though you have like these big marketplaces as well is that something then that's quite tricky to do then if you're pulling from bigger marketplaces to then distinguish like that it will still only be archival from that marketplace
A
4:08AliGUEST
yeah there's a lot like fine tuning at that level as well and i think What makes it extra tricky is often they're designer collaborations with fast fashion.
A
4:16AliGUEST
I think there's Uniqlo, Lumiere.
A
4:18AliGUEST
I mean, there's a lot of these that happen or like John Galliano, H&M or something.
What no one else is saying about Cue Clothing (EP#86)
F
4:58Fi JohnstonHOST
from news.com is that, you know, there's all sorts of commentary about why this has happened.
F
5:06Fi JohnstonHOST
Professor Mortimer, who appears to be a retail marketing expert, His opinion is that some of the inhibiting factors squeezing all Australian retailers, including tighter household budgets, increasing business costs in ultra-budget stores like Shane and Timu, as well as fast fashion stores like Zara, H&M and Uniqlo.
F
5:30Fi JohnstonHOST
Professor Mortimer, I think it's a little bit of a stretch to look to Shane and Timu as being part of this kind of difficulty that Q is having selling its products.
F
5:43Fi JohnstonHOST
When we look at what Q looked like before the pandemic, they had 230 stores and they had revenue around $180 million.

H
51:30HaizHOST

271: When Innovation Stops Serving the Customer
J
12:24John DiJuliusHOST
You know, the 2010s, they, you know, chased a younger, trendier customer with logo-heavy, fast fashion style.
J
12:32John DiJuliusHOST
While its core customer, Basics, focused, value-driven, drifted to Old Navy, which the Gap owned, Uniqlo and Target.
J
12:41John DiJuliusHOST
Gap brand sales have been in decline for over a decade.
J
12:47John DiJuliusHOST
Old Navy now outperforms it, so they kind of cannibalize themselves under that.
