And then I

saw Union County and got really depressed.

I think also on this day, one thing to flag was a really, really fun screening of We Are the Shags.

And we had Ken Kwapis in town, who was just a delight.

October 1st, we're getting to the end, everybody.

We got some heavy hitters here.

We had Union County.

We had Downbeat, which was absolutely upbeat.

The only thing about that is you have to like mirror it to your TV, which kind of sucks.

I saw Union County where like Will Poulter was only like that kid from We're the Millers or he was on The Bear as like, you know, he's a leading man in this movie, which is great.

There's a lot of

great films

And so joining me, you've heard him on the show several times.

In fact, you heard him on the show after one of the screeners that he got me into was because he's a member of SAG-AFTRA when we talked about the movie Union County.

Andrew Benjamin, who's the host of the We Are Rising podcast.

He's also a writer, a professional rapper, because I called him an amateur rapper once and he got very upset about that.

And then that was when she began writing and getting to where she eventually would wind up with this movie.

So this was a movie that was many years in the making.

Yeah, you know, it's also interesting, you know, I kind of figured, you know, I mean, we talked about Union County before.

I would have figured that this would have, that I'm surprised it didn't start, this didn't start out as a short film.

Oh, absolutely.

And again, that's casting and the amazing acting from Roy Scheider, On down the cast list, we just screened a movie here in Columbus a few weeks ago called Union County.

And it's with Will Poulter, Noah Centineo, and it was shot just north of Columbus here.

And for most of that, or a lot of that movie, they used real people in a community.

Well, I don't know what you're gonna say.

Uh, Noah's got Union County, the movie Union County, him and Will Poulter.

This incredible movie.

Just the opening of Union County will tell you, through the text that's on the screen, uh, deals a lot with substance abuse.

I dropped down.

I did a film called Union County.

Uh, I dropped down to 70...

Yeah, 173.

Like I'm like genuinely horrified and that's kinda what saves this movie of being like man there's some really cool ideas in here.

And then I watched Union County which I s- surprised me a lot dude.

Like I was kinda sitting there expecting another two and a half like just three two and a halves in a row and then Union County kinda just swept over me.

It's really basic.

I've seen the movie before.
