Undisputed Attitude

Moving on from the hugely successful Seasons in the Abyss album, Slayer had drawn three studio albums from that decade.

The punk-influenced cover album Undisputed Attitude had arrived in 1996, reviewed here on this podcast on episode 241, and it was their chance to blow away some of the cobwebs that had been gathering.

Either side of this, they produced Divine Intervention in 1994 and Diabolus in Musica in 1998, albums that retained the core Slayer output of fast drums and electrifying guitar, but offered just a slight slip of the occasional change in format.

This is unavoidable for any band, and debate amongst fans of the band is often fierce when it comes to these two albums in particular.

And we mentioned earlier, this song is what you hear in the background when the character John tries to fight the driver of the pickup truck, so we heard a brief appearance of it in the movie.

This track reminds me a lot of what you would hear on the Slayer album Undisputed Attitude.

It sounds just like that, that album, that vibe.

It's all old school punk songs done in a more sped up metal kind of way.
