Underlay

My job is to help train, work with our regional sales managers, and then have them working with our local team to where they're educating both our supply partners and their sales team, and then also the roofing contractors to make sure that they understand the differences between each of the products and why one would be recommended over another.

when it could be technically considered overkill and when it really is necessary to not go for how inexpensive can I be? I like to say that even though insurance is its own beast, Underlayment is kind of the least expensive insurance you can add to whatever you're using within your roof.

So it's the most cost-sensitive upgrade that you can create as that extra piece.

Underlayment in and of itself isn't supposed to be your primary barrier.

It is there in case things go wrong.

And so having a better piece to protect you in case things go wrong is absolutely, in my eyes, it's critical.

You may hear the term underlay.

I always think of the cartoon when I was a kid.

Underlay, underlay, underlay.

All right, that's not really what they said, but that might help you remember.

Underlay are the hidden stitches that that are laid down before the pretty stitches stitch on top.

So think about construction.

Rebar goes inside of concrete.

They're gonna lay the rebar first before they pour the concrete, the finished concrete.
