Under the Sea

There's a parody song, Princeton is Free, performed by the Nassoons, one of Princeton's most established a cappella groups.

They sing it to the beat of Under the Sea from Disney's The Little Mermaid.

At the other extreme, seven of the top ten spots on our ROI list are held by colleges in the City University of New York, or CUNY, system.

That's why I played Kingdom Hearts.

I thought for sure they only did that to capitalize on the popularity of Under the Sea.

No, in fact, it makes even less sense.

For absolutely no reason, this German shepherd sings a calypso song to a band of orphan puppies living in New Orleans about sharing.

The film's soundtrack, composed by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman, is a standout feature.

The songs are catchy and memorable, with Under the Sea and Part of Your World becoming iconic Disney tunes.

These musical numbers not only enhance the storytelling, but also capture the emotions and aspirations of the characters, particularly Ariel's longing for a different life.

Critics have praised The Little Mermaid for its strong female protagonist.

And she gets big.

And our beautiful teenage lovers live happily ever after with Ariel giving up her life under the sea for one on land as she always wanted.

She's so valid for that.
