... where they can piece it together year after year.

Or, uh, maybe they just wanna hike one section 'cause they've seen these other parts of Colorado, but they don't know anything about, say, the Uncompahgre Plateau.

Mm-hmm.

So you, uh, mentioned that you were-- you designed the route with just kinda trying to capture the best of Colorado in mind.

For sure.

Um, I would say that, uh, probably the worst road walk is not one people would immediately think of.

It was the Dallas Divide, uh, going from the Uncompahgre Plateau to the town of Ridgway.

Mm-hmm.

And then another thing that I continue to be excited about is our five intensive mule deer monitoring areas.

Middle Park, Meeker, the Upper Arkansas, Gundersen, and the Uncompahgre Plateau are our sentinel herds that we have over a thousand collared buck stoves and fawns.

We use those to essentially look at movement, cause of mortality, survival for models, and predation factors, how many animals are dying from CWD, that sort of stuff.

So that's something I'm starting to now dip into why I'm so excited about mule deer management.
