Guys, it pains me to talk about them almost as much as Uncle Nearest, which, by the way, I do not and will never talk about Uncle Nearest.

Okay, never say never.

But most likely I'll not talk about Uncle Nearest.

And I'm afraid both companies are going to end up in the crapper real soon.

Well, anyway, let's go ahead, dive in with some industry news here.

And the first one is that the U.S. court has rejected a bid by Uncle Nearest founder Fawn Weaver to halt the potential sale of the company's assets as it faces ongoing financial troubles.

This happened back on October 23rd.

Yeah.

Our two biggest ones are Uncle Nearest because there's been a lot going on there and Republic National Distributing Company because that bankruptcy is moving forward pretty quickly.

We'll give you some updates on Kentucky Owl and some Bargetown Bourbon Company matters and TKC also just to keep you in the loop on what's going on there.

Of course, all these things are based on reviews of various court pleadings.

It's just one person's version.

Meanwhile, the federal judge has denied founder Fawn Weaver's request to block a potential sale while an appeal continues.

That means the court appointed receiver can continue pursuing a sale of Uncle Nearest, but any proposed transaction would still require a court approval.

Tennessee high school seniors now have just a week to go to apply for TN Promise.

Federal Judge Charles Ashley has rejected Fawn Weaver's request for a restraining order blocking the sale of Uncle Nearest assets, while her appeal of the receivership is pending in a federal appeals court.

In addition, receiver Phillip Young Jr. has agreed to drop Uncle Nearest's claims of gross negligence against the distillery's main lender, Farm Credit MidAmerica, in exchange for a reduction in the overall amount Uncle Nearest owes the bank.

The settlement ends claims that farm credit was negligent in approving $67 million in loan requests made by Uncle Nearest's former chief financial officer without checking with Fawn Weaver.

It also sets the total amount owed by Uncle Nearest to farm credit at nearly $129 million before the reduction specified in the settlement.

In other news, Jack Daniels has released its annual single-barrel special release.

And so- U.S. District Judge Charles E. Atchley Jr. has issued an order setting an accelerated briefing schedule on the bid by founder Fawn Weaver to delay any final asset sale during her ongoing appeal.
