um i mean i think like the group consensus like i guess in the fandom for villains ranking it's For me, it's Stilze here first.

And I feel like in most of the fandom, it's either him or Amon, then Kuvira, then Unalaq.

And I would probably agree, even though I don't really like Amon, I think he is written the most interesting.

Jeff and I think Ben were saying that it wasn't really developed until the end.

yeah um i was trying i was looking in the podcast notes because i wanted to see if we had ali's villain rankings but i believe we don't but i do have many people's villain rankings from right after the finale so this obviously could have changed but Mel and Delaney said Kuvira is the best villain, followed by Zaheer, followed by Aman, followed by Unalaq.

Ben and Britt had Zaheer number one.

He is, yeah.

You know, he's not, he's a lot more interesting than Unalaq.

I think it helps that he has both genuine friendships and genuine, like, he has a love interest who he actually genuinely cares about.

Unlike Unalaq, where it's like, you know, if my kids die, they die.

You know, fuck them kids.

Fuck.

He's like, it never meant, like Rava and Vatu were never meant to be separated, right? Like Juan was the one that made a mistake.

And so ultimately what he's doing in the season is not really trying to bring Vatu back like Unalaq did, but they did have that perspective there.

Um, how that exactly ties into his practical views this season.

I don't know if it's the most, uh, like well done, but I, I, I think it's interesting to think about, but yeah, the, I want to, I want to get more into what Mel was, was bringing up here.

I think the season makes that more clear.

But she's kind.

When we see her, honestly, even though she's supposed to be this enforcer, she is taught darkness by Tarlok and Unalaq in the first two seasons, but she overcomes it.

Okay, last major topic I want to talk about is the

Unalaq becoming the Dark

Avatar, which I believe they say is a term they use.

This is relevant because we need to bring up Seven Havens and again, context if you're listening to us in the future we have not seen seven havens we just know uh some stuff from leaks and a trailer um but uh the concept of a dark avatar uh very interesting concept having a dark version of the main character in any show it's but in like any fantasy thing always appealing it's classic trope uh dark dark for uh here's the here's the the thing that stood out to me the most with the dark avatar is that he does not actually bend all the elements he just spends water I

Um, I just like conceptually though, it feels like a missed opportunity to really explore the concept of a dark avatar, to not have him bend all the elements at the same time.

It's like, if we were going to really do the dark avatar parallel to Cora, uh, it being Unalaq would not be satisfying because they did not set him up properly to really take on that kind of thematic weight.
