Un Certain Regard

This will be released here in the US by A24 on November 6th.

This premiered at Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section.

The description: "A hard-partying New York City club promoter sees his whirlwind lifestyle upended by the arrival of the 10-year-old son he never knew he had." This was written and directed by Jordan Firstman.

This is a fantastic first feature.

Uh, so there's like the main competition, right, that you can win the, the, yeah, Palme d'Or and all that.

There's the Un Certain Regard where, like, Camp Miasma got kinda slotted into, which is kinda like a second competition and that has its own prizes or prize that you can win, but you can't win, like, the main prize.

And then yeah, this midnight screening I think is more kinda genre-y is the impression I get.

Mm.

Uh, and then it was...

I, I saw that it was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at, uh, Cannes in '95.

So-

That's the Un Certain Regard.

That's where they're not sure if they regard the film or not.

If...

... really spelled that way.

And then Bi Gan, B-I G-A-N.

When I crouched down for the photo and she said, no, no, I make myself tall like you.

In Un Certain Regard, we have The Bling Ring by Sofia Coppola.

I've still not seen that one.

Oh, it's good.

This is the daughter of Luis Puenzo.

We've got Manuscripts Don't Burn by Mohamed Rasouloff.

This is the Seat of the Sacred Fig director, and he won the Fipreski Prize for Un Certain Regard for this film.

We have Miele by Valeria Golino.
