Ultracycling has grown significantly over the last few years as more and more people become aware of the sport and get captivated by the dot watching experience.

Volunteer Els speaks to Anna Kanzani, who cycled all the way from Switzerland to be here at the finish and soak up the race atmosphere.

So you've been doing a Euro trip.

And yeah, still can't believe it.

And yeah, Max for me was... somehow i met him the first time during the bohemian border bash race in the czech republics years ago and he welcomed me in this world of ultra cycling was like hey you knew come in race together and enjoy it and he just arrived from the Silk Road from 2019 and then stepped into the Bohemian-Borderbush race and then we raced this together he was very tired from the Silk Road obviously so Yeah, but it was very cool and over the years we became friends and traveled to different races like the Hellenic Mountain Race, the Fur Elements and other races.

He lived in Salzburg, I lived in Innsbruck, very close to each other, so we met in the middle for ski touring or for bike ride or whatever.

yeah i really really miss him and was just a nice person i'm very thankfully that he he was the first person that i met in this ultra cycling world and he welcomed me so i really really appreciate that yeah so thanks a lot max bye

i wish this would be a stupid video compilation that we make to celebrate his birthday or something where he gets to hear the stories and the jokes and and we get to laugh together it's it's just still hard to process and it's still hard to believe but but we are here and he's not but yeah it's just the way we will remember him and those stories they will live with us and the way that's the way Max will live with us it's he's been a He's been a boy.

He's been an amazing guy who's been chasing the numbers, loved the numbers, loved analyzing them and getting better.
