Yeah, this is written by Brian K. Vaughn and penciled by Stuart Eminen.

And this is Ultimate Longshot.

We have not seen this version of the character in the Ultimate Universe before.

So one problem that Ultimate Universe had as a whole, that Ultimate X-Men had specifically...

Too many characters.

yeah it gives it an authenticity it's not just action and no story the story's actually pretty good right um i don't know if they did a tie-in comic i meant to look that up sometimes they do that

Well, I think this was during the time when the comics should have been Ultimate X-Men.

You'll know that it's Ultimate X-Men or X-Men Ultimate.

This was established as Earth 1610, which also spawned a lot of other Ultimate, because Ultimate being such a big... word that was bandied about in the nineties and the two thousands, everything's ultimate or it was ultra or it was extreme.

Um, but that gave us the ultimate X-Men ultimate fantastic four and simply the ultimates as opposed to the Avengers, which were all, all titles.

I followed the ultimate X-Men.

Not great.

Um, The Ultimates, which I liked very much, was turned into some animated films as well.

The cringiness of the dated material.

It was even worse.

You guys do not want to touch the Ultimate X-Men.

This is the year that the Ultimate Universe kicks off.

And Ultimate X-Men actually is the book that tops the charts for December of 2000 at 117,000 copies sold, which is still not a great number.

That's not a good number.

The year before, Tomb Raider number one was the best-selling comic at 189,000 copies sold.

And I should say, not to imply that Ultimate X-Men was the best-selling comic of the year.

It was actually Uncanny X-Men number 381.

Um...

And Mark Miller, another one who, you know, he had done The Authority, which was a big success over at DC Comics.

Can I just say first for that? Wow.

Whoever comes up with that and keeps doing it, like obviously the X-Men did it as well.

And it's like, guys, guys, are you trying to be assholes? Come on now.

Come on, pick something else.

and um okay so olaf stapleton in odd john in 1935 is the first person to use the term homo superior

Okay, I like him.

Then the X-Men in 1963, Stan Lee, probably through SF writers who work in DC Comics and the fact that comics fandom and SF fandom in the States are the same thing at that point, he immediately in issue one uses that term to describe Magneto.

So it makes sense in the X-Men because they are actually the people using it as being assholes.
