I nailed it.

Um, so I started, my Google feed started populating with John Sykes stories, and I say this in the, in the, tell the story in the introduction, but, um, I never knew that John Sykes was potentially being considered to replace Steve Clark in Def Leppard after Steve Clark passed away.

But, um, I'm reading this article, uh, I think it's from Ultimate Guitar, um, Magazine, and it was an interview with Vivian Campbell where he is talking, you know, they're, they're asking him about John Sykes and, you know, they had sort of parallel careers in a way, if you go back and look.

And, um, he said, yeah, uh, [laughs] he said, "I, when I tried out for Def Leppard, there was a couple other guys, one n- notably was Sykes." And he goes, uh, just based on the, you know, based on the talent level, I thought if it's based on talent, singing, playing, writing, he's getting the gig.

Obviously, he didn't and, you know, Vivian Campbell's still in Def Leppard all these years later, but, uh, yeah, it got me thinking.

So basically, yeah, dude,

Ultimate Guitar was like, like many, was my saving grace.

And yeah, no, I didn't do lessons.

I didn't do anything like that.

That's right.

I was looking up bands that branded up with some sort of alcohol and stumbled upon this Ultimate Guitar article, 30 bands and arti- [laughs] artists-

... with their own line of alcoholic beverages.

I wanted to...

I, I started writing them myself, and I actually thought the u- the, the gentleman who wrote these at Ultimate Guitar kind of, I thought it was funnier.

Yeah, you could give your past self a nod there.

Like me and Ultimate Guitar are very good friends.

Oh my God.

oh yeah we did Family Tree that's the one I was thinking of yeah yeah that sounded cool because I've never really been like a fan of that musical genre but I was like that sounded like a cool song and obviously with the harmonies and that sounded cool

yeah well we're We're quite lucky in that we're similar enough to each other that we can just wing things.

And that video is from us rehearsing in their garage and just picking songs off Ultimate Guitar.

how did they micromanage the timing of it? Yeah.

Guitarist Jason Todd told Ultimate Guitar in an interview, quote, we wrote the best album we could.

Oh, so honest.

Yeah, that's the most honest take.

Right.

And two years later, Anselmo told Ultimate Guitar that he considered Metallica to be the Rolling Stones of metal in terms, in terms of career and longevity.

All right.

How did you learn in your atmosphere? Did you go to ultimate guitar or did you try to learn it yourself?

Oh, no, I didn't.

I didn't.

So I was like, all right, well, let me figure out how to change the key.

Once I learned that, I was like, oh, this is great.

And you're learning every time you learn a new one.

So you can learn new songs, look up the chords to any song that you want to learn on perhaps Ultimate Guitar website.

That's a fairly reliable one that most musicians use.
