Ulster Cycle

The Táin is probably the most complete ancient Irish epic that we have, and multiple versions of it survive.

It's the centerpiece of the Ulster Cycle, the loosely connected tales that storytellers in that province would have told about their heroic ancestors.

The central figure of the Ulster Cycle is the hero Cú Chulainn, and the Táin tells the story of his greatest triumph.

Connacht, under the rule of Queen Medb, invades Ulster to steal a magical bull, and whatever else they can get as well.

The men of Ulster are under a curse that makes them too weak to fight, so Cú Chulainn has to defend the province alone.

I may have to... hold back on doing an episode on the Battle of Mugturith and do that at some time in the future.

I may try to do sort of a transition between the two seasons with a look at, say, the booing of Aedin, which does tie into the Ulster Cycle, which is my main area of concern in my research.

and then look at how that's adapted during the revival.

It's actually from a story that precedes the Taun, so obviously this shouldn't be episode two, but in terms of making it fit my whole fake Star Wars theme, this was the best I could.
