UL Bohemians R.F.C.

In the 49th minute, Aguirre grabbed her second of the afternoon, extending the lead to eight points.

Blackrock continued to battle, but UL Bulls held firm to secure their first win of the campaign.

At the same time of you being sick, keeping an eye on the game on our app, another plug, and Stacey obviously in action against Railway, I was down on Anacotti on commentary duty for UL Bulls against Blackrock.

You have Bowes, of course, picking up the victory in that game.

We watched the highlights of what was an enthralling battle in Anacostia.

Of course, a rematch of last year's final.

Bowes, of course, coming out on top again.

Absolutely.

Andrea Murphy getting a hat trick, Ava Fanning with two, and then they've so many strong, I suppose, household names within that squad.

They're obviously still reeling after the final defeat to Bulls back in April, and what a way to kickstart their, uh, their new campaign.

Yeah, serious score.

Um, they just seemed to be on top from start to finish.

While, yeah, you can see Andy Murphy and, and Maggie as being players that you're gonna have to watch out for, you just don't know what else they're gonna bring at you.

And like for other teams now, they're gonna look into ...

Obviously they're playing Bulls this weekend.

You know, it's where do we stop them and, and where can we, uh, limit those scores coming from?

Off the field, World Rugby is cracking down on hip drop tackles.

Domestically, Canterbury won the Farrah Palmer Cup Premiership and Railway Union upset defending champions UL Bohemian on the opening weekend of the Irish and Nigeria AIL.

I'm Wendy, here to bring you the latest in women's rugby news.

This is your women's rugby rundown, and we're about to kick off.

Guecho beat Saint Cugat 52-5, and Krat beat Rugby Turia 41-24.

So Guecho and Krat lead on five points.

The Nigeria Women's All-Ireland League began with a shock as Railway Union beat defending champions UL Bohemian 19-5 at Park Avenue.

Old Belvedere beat Galwegians 31-15 and Black Rock beat Wicklow 50-5.

Clare players across sports divisions too, with Ennis having their team.

Then obviously, as you mentioned, we've got Clodagh Halloran coming on, and she's one of a number of Clare players involved in, in that UL Bohs side.

So yeah, we're gonna have a, a really, uh, interesting season when that, uh, kicks off this coming weekend.

Yeah, and in the, in the soccer there was a Munster Junior Cup, and the Shield will be back into league action as well.

No bother.

Thanks, Sean.

With the AIL season about to kick off, uh, we thought we'd have to, uh, get in and have a chat with, uh, someone from the UL Bohs side as, uh, Division 1A is, is looming, and, uh, there's so many Clare ladies involved in the UL Bohs side.

Uh, we had so many people to choose from, but someone we hadn't heard from before is Clodagh Halloran, and, uh, she kindly agreed to join us on the show.

Stirling County and Hillhead Jordan Hill are both 4-0 and level on 20 points at the top after four rounds.

Looking ahead, the Nigeria Women's All-Ireland League begins October 10th, with UL Bohemian opening the defense of their third straight title away to Railroad Union.

The league has seen a small shift in format, with 12 teams instead of 10, and now they're in two divisions of six.

And now to Oceania.
