Right back over my shoulder, that's the iconic US Steel mill, and that's exactly the kind of thing that we'll work together and we'll work with President Trump to fight and defend the steel way of life right here in the Steel Valley.

I have this opportunity to introduce this great American, a great senator, and yes, he's in a different party, but I'm proud to count him as my great friend.

So now the spreads have inc- increased, so that's why you're seeing companies like Nucor and U.S. Steel make, you know, $2, $3 billion in, in profit in one year because of that phenomenon.

Gosh.

But I don't know if that happens in, in any other industry, but that definitely happens in the steel industry.

I was actually inside the, the Duluth city limits.

It's called Morgan Park, and it, it was a, uh, a, a community that was built by U.S. Steel.

So it's workforce housing back in the early 1900s, 1915, right around that, that era is when these structures were, were built.

Follows the, the model of, uh, I believe it was Gary, Indiana, um, s- had a, a similar, U.S. Steel built a similar, uh, facility or a similar community in that earlier, but then they moved to Duluth.

Uh, the, the reason for building the community in Duluth, Minnesota's a, um, especially that area of Minnesota's, uh, taconite area.

It's where we mine the ore to produce the steel, and at that time, Minnesota was, didn't wanna see all that resource just leaving and not gaining anything, so they were gonna tax the ore before, you know, shipping it across to other states.

And to get around that, Minnesota Steel, or, uh, U.S. Steel, uh, built this community and built a s- a, a steel plant in Duluth that operated until about 1971, I think, is when it closed down.

Um, and they built all these houses to go with it, and they...
