U.S. Senior Open

You can see where the proper miss is, pin location, whatever.

But if you're mapping out a course where, like say you're going to play a U.S. Senior Open qualifier and you've never been there before, what are you doing? So,

I mean, again, plug my own app.

In the Decade app, I've got these driving targets where basically you set, so I set 60 yards wide at 300 off the tee, 270 and 50 and 240 and, excuse me, 270 and... 370, 270 and 60, 240 and 50.

I worked with Jill McGill.

She won the U.S. Senior Open.

U.S. senior women's open right after like three days with me at Cherry Hills one year.

That was kind of fun.

Uh, I'll play in, uh, another amateur event through the Golf Association of Phil- Philadelphia, and I'll play in the US Mid-Am.

Uh, yeah, for me, I, I, I'm at 47 kind of looking at US Senior Open kind of on the horizon, and kind of ramping up for that would be, would be pretty cool.

I, I just love the idea of the meritocracy of the game, that you can kind of earn your way into playing some really cool events, and that you just kind of can't buy your way into it.

I, I just, there's something about that that I, I really like.

You know, it's not like she just goes home and doesn't do anything.

And she also qualified for the U.S. Senior Open, which is out in Portland.

So she'll be going out there pretty soon.

And I said, how do you do that? And, you know, I have the team.

Bella Reeve is one of only three courses in the United States that's hosted all four traveling professional men's events.

So that would be the U.S. Open, the U.S. Senior Open, the PGA Championship and the Senior PGA Championship.

One of three courses.

Wow.

But anyway, Scottie Cameron, I think the way he started, I mean, he started making putters in his garage, I think, with his dad, you know, and they started doing their thing, and then his putter-making skills just went you know, off the charts, and people wanted to hire him to do, to make putters for them.

And before I forget, I've been watching Seinfeld a lot lately, and I actually finished, I hadn't seen season nine since I was, I mean, I never saw it, because I was freshly graduated from college back in 1998, and that's the year that, that was the last year of the Seinfeld show, and I was out, you know, busting my butt, trying to get Riviera ready for the U.S. Senior Open, and I had literally no time to watch TV like I used to the year before back when I was back in school.

But anyway, there's a scene with Kramer and Elaine, and they're at Mr. Peterman's office, or actually, Elaine had become the interim president of the company, and Kramer had made a visit with her in the office, and there's a scene with Kramer holding a Scottie Cameron putter, doing a little, you know, practice putting on the carpet with like a cup at the end, whatever.

And the way they shot it was, it's actually with a putter that I own.

Uh, they hosted the, uh, Girls' Junior in 2019.

They hosted the US Senior Open in 2023.

And, uh, next year, or even this fall, I'll be back there helping them as we prepare for some future championships.

They've got the Women's Senior Open in 2028 and another Men's Senior Open, I believe, in 2034.

So, uh, exciting times moving forward there too.
