Tython

Such a good system.

Opening up the discussion on Legacy, the book is basically a side adventure between Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker, where Leia and Rey go to Tython.

Leia has the broken lightsaber crystals of the Skywalker lightsaber used to kill a bunch of younglings, which is a great family heirloom to have.

Uh, she needs to fix it.

They're trying to look for this lightsaber forge on Tython.

They go through, uh, a lot of trials and tribulations with some other people who happen to have been from Rose's home planet or associated with Rose.

There's some small galaxy issues here to talk about a bit.

But I really don't envy her at all.

Good job, Volgarod.

So they're off to Tython, last seen as a place where Grogu sat on a rock for a minute while Boba Fett clubbed fools in the face.

And by they, I mean Rey and Leia and Chewie and 3PO and R2.

Upon arriving, they save some randos in orbit, and then they meet some more randos down on the planet, which annoys Rey even more because she thinks the book, I mean the mission, I mean the book, I mean the mission would be better without them.

I may agree with her.

Tython is strong in the force and looking for the forge leads them to an ancient Jedi temple full of traps and puzzles and shit.

Over the course of some fairly pointless adventures, Rey and Leia find a bunch of lightsabers.

That's one thing they find.

What an excellent setting.

I mean, any planet that is deeply connected with the Jedi or the Sith, Tython, Osis, Octo, Corbin, Exegol, Malachor, like,

count me in.

It has a special something to it, for sure.

Leia may be afraid of what Ray has experienced, thinks and feels, especially what she did on Aksho and the like.

but she discovers in the Jedi texts that Luke had collected that there is this forge on Tython, which is of course the planet that we saw in the Mandalorian where Grogu reaches out to the force and contacts Luke.

And they eventually have that reunion.

It's shown up in other Star Wars stories.

So Gav, Ziff, and some of their friends attempted an assassination on Brilla.

It failed because Kylo Ren shows up.

And now they are eager to get a second shot at Brilla, and they're trying to track her down, And they have basically sought refuge with Gav's father on Tython.

And Gav's father is a head of a sect of the Church of the Force, which is what Lor San Teko was when we met him in The Force Awakens.

Here, he sits with his monks and mystics and debates philosophy with them.

After that, he takes him to Tython, a journey that proves long and difficult due to its distance from major hyperspace lanes.

Despite that, it gives Anakin a chance to meditate in the wilderness, untouched by the Jedi or Republic for generations.

The sensation is unlike anything Anakin's ever felt.

Anakin coughs and covers his mouth, feeling his head spinning.

What is this place? Belmora.

This planet was once rich in the Force, no different than Tython or Jedha.

But years of neglect, lax policies have turned this place into this.

So after the events of The Last Jedi, where Anakin slash Luke's lightsaber was split in half, Rey tries to repair the kyber crystal at the Resistance base on Pekara.

From the Jedi text taken from Octo, Rey is able to learn of a Jedi forge on Tython and decides to go there, bringing Chewie and C-3PO with her, and Leia decides to come along and brings R2-D2.

Meanwhile, Haze miner fugitives Gavrin Hylus and Ziff Loresta see the Millennium Falcon attacked by TIE fighters above Tython, and they assist Rey, losing one of their engines and requiring the Falcon's assistance to land.

The pair have unfinished business after their attempted assassination of First Order Major Brilla Wollstenholm failed, and they assume Hylus' sister Vanica and their fellow co-conspirator Gordy Beleen are waiting to meet them at their rendezvous point in a couple of months, but Gordy was actually captured and died during interrogation.

On Tython, both groups are met by Gavran's father, Lijar, a priest of the Church of the Force.

Rey follows a Chadrafan child, Mipka, into the temple by moving stones from the entrance, but an old holo recording warms them not to enter the temple, and then poison gas spills in, which Rey stops using the Force.

After a rebel attack, Major Brilla Wolstenholm abandons her post and flees with several injured First Order soldiers to Escalon, a planet her assistant tied to her attempted assassination.

Back at the temple on Tython, Rey, Leia, Gab, and C-3PO encounter a pool with a door on the other side of a gap.
