Tyler Stephenson

Ryan Jeffers is there.

Now, Tyler Stephenson also hitting the market, he's not a bad catcher either, but when you look at Ryan Jeffers, who's 29 years old, will be 30 by next season, uh, is still a young age to sign him to, like, a three or four-year deal.

Scott Boris is gonna let teams get in a bidding war for him.

The Yankees were interested in him in the off-season.

... we as fans would like to admit.

Um, so yeah, you've got to bring back Tyler Stephenson.

I agree with you.

I don't think they could get Jeffers because if Minnesota doesn't get him, then somebody else will.

Yeah.

And you could even argue if they really are an improvement on Jose Trevino, which in that case, I don't necessarily know that I want the Reds spending money.

Like, if the Reds aren't bringing back Tyler Stephenson, and if they aren't signing Kelly or Jeffers, I low-key just want them to bring in a Will Banfield or a invite to spring training to be the backup catcher, and we will just, just take enough ibuprofen to watch the catcher position-

Yeah [laughs]

Let's hear from @PitchingPro.

What about the catchers? Tyler Stephenson, Will Banfield, Jose Trevino, who is the plan?

Stephenson is the primary catcher.

He's the guy.

He just was using them or losing them, 57% success rate for him with 105 challenges.

One, Tyler Stephenson of the Cincinnati Reds was very good in this department.

Austin Wells, Hunter Goodman, Joe Mack, and then Victor Caratini, Patrick Bailey, Dylan Dingler, JT Realmuto, and then Ryan Jeffers round out that list.

So again, if you look at the, uh, strikeout flips, strikeouts gained on challenges, Ryan Jeffers, uh, was top seven in baseball, and by the way, tied with Victor Caratini, uh, for the plus 23 strikeouts that were flipped thanks to ABS.
