Tyler Heinemann

I don't know how you could possibly get through this one.

Tyler Heinemann, if you remember him, was the 18th catcher for the Red Sox a couple years ago.

He's hitting 179 with a 455 OPS.

So that's just a gauntlet.

Valley has been struggling.

I mean, Valenzuela got to play a time when Kirk was hurt, right? He outperformed Tyler Heinemann.

He stole all the playing time there.

And then, obviously, since Kirk, he's been back, and Kirk's been playing well – Valenzuela's playing time has cratered, and as a result, so has his production.

And then in terms of throwing, Brandon Valenzuela, like I said, is tied for the lead with Freddie Fermin and Joe Mack.

in terms of caught stealing above average.

So defensively, this Blue Jays catching core, like they have been since Danny Jansen first came up and then Alejandro Kirk and then Tyler Heinemann, they've been terrific defensively.

Kirk's obviously been producing offensively.

But other than Wade Meckler, who's been in and out of the lineup, I think nobody else that's above 250 for this team.

Travis Darnot, Denzar Guzman, Tyler Heinemann, Christian Moore, Moises Ballesteros, Kyron Paris.

Like, just go down the list.

Jose Siria, guys, and you're 230 or lower with no power whatsoever.

Vaughn Grisham has been able to buy a .250.

That helps you out, but these guys like Denzar Guzman, Tyler Heinemann, Moises Ballesteros, Christian Moore, like, just dead bad to Vaughn, dead bad.

And for the Angels, to their credit, this has not been a Bad bullpen, actually, and they were completely safe.

Robert Ureña and the 1-0 loss actually pitched all eight innings for them.

Again, he got his chance and made the most of it.

Imagine if a current journeyman like Tyler Heinemann had parlayed his 2022 run with the Pirates when he was also 31 into a half dozen years of regular play and not just regular play, but competent regular play.

It really hasn't happened too many times.

It didn't happen for Tyler Heinemann.

It hasn't happened in the catching department.

There have been some late blooming pitchers you can think of, but not too many players who had great careers starting at age 31.

I don't see that with Bateman yet.

I really hope this guy doesn't turn into like Miles Straw, like Tyler Heinemann type Babbitt from last year.

You're kind of scaring me with that Babbitt stuff.

But I think the hit tool's always been there, right? Like, I hope...

But you had an article recently talking about the change in ownership for the Angels.

And yes, there's former Blue Jays on there like Tyler Heinemann and Yusei Kikuchi.

And I know people are just maybe not paying the most attention to the Angels.

But you had a video on that where you're talking about this is actually liberating for Angels fans.

Why is it for those who are not paying attention at all?

Yeah, reminding me Tyler Heinemann's hanging out over there in Anaheim.

I had forgotten about that, but good for him.

I don't know how much this means to Tyler Heinemann, but it definitely means a lot to the Angels fans in Anaheim who have been so stuck, so...
