Tyler Boyd

So I thought, okay, they're going to do what the Bengals did.

When Tyler Boyd left in free agency and he was getting a little long in the tooth, the Bengals chose not to really go after a slot receiver, and they signed Mike Gesicki.

They run Mike Kosicki as a glorified slot receiver, and then they play Drew Sample or whomever else at in-line tight end.

You're playing two tight ends, all right? That's what I thought they would do last year.

Yeah.

It'll be the Tyler Boyd pass to Jacksonville.

Flannoy would be next.

And if you're in the deeper leagues where he's still floating out there, the problem with him, Flannoy, I would compare to Tyler Boyd from years ago, is that the third on the Bengals churning offense was still only a wide receiver four, not with the touchdowns that Flannoy is getting.

He was actually more of a reception volume situation than touchdowns.

But you're relying on the number three in offense.

I think it was two years ago now, two off seasons, I would say we did during the off season.

And I keep track of it still as players are out of the league, like Joe Mixon, Tyler Boyd, as they, you know, go off into the sunset.

I had them and it's all formula based on what they have done in their careers and their accolades.

But yeah, Long story short there, James Brooks is 13th on the greatest Bengals of all time.

He can shut down, he can turtle up, he can say, hey, I'm gonna go do it somewhere else, or he can flip it the other way.

Tyler Boyd is the example I'll give.

And I'm gonna tell two stories, one that's public, one that's not as public.

And I might've mentioned it at times, but it's certainly not out there to a degree because it was a conversation between me and Tyler Boyd.

Tyler Boyd was a healthy and active in year two.

Healthy and active.

Had 600 plus yards receiving as a rookie.

And then an inactive healthy scratch early in his second season.
