Mais quand j'ai dû choisir un truc à étudier, parce que mon père voulait vraiment que je fasse des études, je me suis dit ok, si je dois étudier, je sais que je voudrais rien faire d'autre après.

Donc autant faire quelque chose qui rapporte le plus d'argent possible.

Et pour choisir l'ingénierie minière, je suis allée littéralement sur Google et je me suis demandé quel métier en Afrique du Sud rapportait le plus d'argent.

Et je me suis dit bon, je suppose que je vais être ingénieur des mines.

Donc ouais, c'était le plan au départ pour satisfaire mes parents et ensuite quand c'est devenu plus sérieux, parce que j'étais censée aussi travailler un peu avec mon père à son travail.

... how it always felt unattainable being from the bottom of Africa, literally South Africa.

And now that I have been given this opportunity, I really wanted to extend the idea of what a pop star looks like from Africa.

So yeah, I thought A Pop.
