Twice-Told Tales

An idea that something small and intelligent may be hiding in the darkness, watching you, waiting for the moment when you are alone, and knowing that no one else will believe you when you finally do see it.

So in this episode of Discover the Horror, we are going to tackle another Twice Told Tales and look at both versions of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.

The first, the remarkably effective 1973 television film, and then there's the more elaborate remake released in 2010.

We will look at how each film tells its story, what each one understands about fear, and whether bringing the creatures out of the shadows makes them more frightening or takes away some of their power.
