This November, Washington voters will decide whether to keep or reject the new income tax on people making more than a million dollars a year.

wasn't the bill it was an amendment oh and the amendment uh so the minority didn't much like the bill at all so they were throwing up a lot of amendments and the majority was just beating them off one at a time kind of indiscriminately frankly because they just wanted the bill to pass and preserve it Anybody

who's watched TVW has seen that

happen.

But there was this amendment that kind of touched me that would have preserved the eligibility for somebody who had been given it if, however, subsequently they were called up for reserve duty or National Guard duty.

Yeah, I was going to say civil engagement, but civic health on a broader level in Washington state.

Can you just kind of talk about why that's so important to you and what that project actually does?

I'm reminded when you talk about that's my job on the floor of – I think it's really important for people to understand, those who don't watch TVW all the time, that the fact is that the Senate floor deliberations are, I think, undertaken with an enormous amount of respectful discourse almost all the time.

Yeah, I agree.

He'll also lay out his budget priorities for the next legislative session.
