I've been listening to a lot of Turnpike Troubadours recently.

For Possum Queen, we started out doing the vast majority covers, and we still do a lot of covers.

But as we dive deeper into the songwriting piece, the first three songs that we played today were all originals written by members of the band.

is that something i look into dive into more i think evan felker of the turnpike troubadours he just has such a unique way to paint a picture um something i'm trying to learn from you know contrary to a lot of popular bluegrass they don't have like one outstanding you know generational talent musician they just have a really good team and uh who know how to put it together well so like watching them up at the top of Snow King this summer was really cool because it's kind of exactly what you hear and what you hear on the radio and you think you're going to hear going up there.

It sounds like they're greater than the sum of their parts, the work that they can put together, and it's only achievable in the group setting.

Yeah, and the kitchen dwellers with that show too were really cool because they are – you know if we were to go like whole hog on this like they start like they started off they're like 10 years 15 years ahead right and they just like have been if you ask like their friends from back home they're like those guys have gotten really good right they they just like started off playing together and playing locally and then like uh have stayed tight and gotten tighter and and just like worked really hard at it yeah

There's a band that I like, and this is probably the first time you ever heard of this band, Corey, the Turnpike Troubadours.

They are a country music band from the Oklahoma area, Texas.

They're playing their first ever, I think, headlining show in the Tampa Bay area.

So something that a lot of the fans of the show know, but you don't know, is that I'm a Turnpike Troubadour stan.

Like, Turnpike Troubadours are the greatest band to ever exist on the face of the earth.

I've seen them live ten times now.
