He was 33 when I wrote it.

Um, Stanford grad, you know, kind of really typical Silicon Valley resume.

In the summer of 47, the Skystreak set back-to-back world airspeed records.

Commander Turner Caldwell pushed it to 564 miles per hour on August 20th.

Then Major Marion Carl, a marine aviator, broke that record just three days later at 549 knots.

These were absolute world records.
