And then in 1987, I started... running fuel barges on the Kuskokwim.

And during my time there, I spent time delivering fuel from Tuntutuliak all the way up to McGrath.

Later, I joined a company called Yukon Fuel and Utana Barge Lines, and we provided barge service there on the Kuskokwim.

And during that time, we also bought the fuel distribution businesses in Antioch and McGrath when the owners were retiring.

She grew up in Bethel, Quethluck, with a population of roughly 500 at the time, Tuntutuliak, population 300, Platinum, population 50, and Bethel again as her parents split up.

She ate moose and seal and spent her summers on the Cusco Quim, captaining tender boats and cleaning, drying, and smoking salmon.
