Tune Out the Noise

So there's really no excuse for not investing in public markets today.

Now, what have people learned? Well, Unfortunately, they haven't learned how to tune out the noise.

I mean, we did that two or three years ago along with Harold Morris.

It actually turned out to be a Harold Morris film entitled Tune Out the Noise.

It's on YouTube.

Anybody can watch it.

It wasn't just the book.

In 2025, the premiere of Tune Out the Noise as well.

Why has this message and the writings in the book become even more important in recent years to a point where yourself, as well as Dimensional as a whole, has gone about expressing them in various media forms.

Yeah, it's been a shock to see, actually.

You know, the movie Tune Out the Noise, it's had over 30 million views.

I mean, who would have thought? And the book is getting a great reception.

And I think most of the voices out there seem to be negative, expressing negativity.

It's fine to do, but it's nice to know that you have a sensible way to invest that has a high degree of chance of working over the long haul.

I don't know if you saw the movie, but Errol Morris did this film.

We worked with Errol, and then he decided he wanted to do a film, and he called it Tune Out the Noise.

It's a lot about the history of these ideas, really kind of the development of the science.

Last time you were on, we were talking about the movie Tune Out the Noise, and we spent a lot of the conversation on the science of investing, like how markets work and why trying to outguess them is difficult, and the revolution that made evidence-based investing possible.

Your new book, though, Stay Calm, makes that science feel like only the first half of the argument.

You know, perhaps the harder problem is whether a human being can actually live with, uh, whatever they are dealing with within their portfolio.

So, keep on truckin' was, to me, just keep on advancing these ideas.

You know, they're important, um, and, you know, don't give up.
