I'm Adrian Lawrence and today we're talking about NEDs, whether an advisory board member, a NED or a trustee is suitable for you.

Just to give you an idea, a trustee is the person responsible for helping govern a charity or organisation established under a trust structure.

There's many similarities with a non-exec, but it's slightly different.

and an advisory board member is slightly different again.

That generally provides expertise, experience, and guidance, but without having the same legal responsibilities as a director or a trustee.

First, we have Angelina Gordon, who is the Director of Adult Guardianship and Community Engagement Services for Adults.

So big mouthful, we're going to learn from Angelina about what that is exactly for folks that may not be familiar with the guardianship office, Public Guardian and Trustee's Office.

And then after that, at about 1.30, we'll have two guests from the Prince George Parkinson's group talking about the... walk that's taking place, the super walk that's happening this weekend, but also about some of the things they do as a local Parkinson's group that may be of interest also to our listeners.

But before we get to that, I want to welcome Angelina.

Really good to have you, Angelina.

I'm going to share a little bit about you, just some of the things that you've been involved with in terms of the Public Guardian and Trustee, but then maybe after I do that, you could share a little bit about yourself maybe and how you ended up getting into being part of this important work.

This caught my eye just before we nip off.

Oh, yeah, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, yeah, yeah.

Formerly Prince Edward, this afternoon visited the Union of European Football Association in Geneva, in Geneva, rather, in Nyon.

It was very intimidating and I know a lot of people based down in Dover.

You're down in Kent, aren't you? Yes, I'm in Kent and also the school where I'm Chair of Trustees is using the Parade Square as the operational support room for Kent Police.

So I've been in contact over the weekend quite heavily with them and it was very, very intimidating.

That was something new to us, but our board of trustees was very receptive and said, let's support this idea.

No, that's great because, yeah, sometimes things seem so, I don't want to say focused, but, you know, it may not be able to help in the best way, even though it can kind of help in a way.

So I love that the Board of Trustees is willing to take that input to make sure they're really being able to help folks.

Well, the first thing I'll say is it is absolutely not age-related.
