Trump International Hotel and Tower

Humans can feel building sway when the acceleration reaches about five to twenty-five milli G, well below any structural danger, which is why tuned mass dampers are mainly installed for comfort rather than safety.

The Gulf and Western Building in New York, a forty-four story tower built in the 1960s, caused so many complaints about wind-induced motion sickness that its owners spent over ten million dollars reinforcing it with steel bracing.

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington state famously collapsed in 1940, just four months after opening, when steady forty mile per hour winds set up a resonant vibration that tore it apart.

The only casualty was a dog named Tubby, trapped in a car on the bridge.

It's right at number one Central Park West, the old Paramount building.

And that's coming down, and we're building Trump International Hotel and Tower.

I think in the history of condos, I don't believe there's ever been anything quite like this in terms of what we're selling and how fast we're selling.

That's right, at Columbus Circle there? That's right, at Columbus Circle.

I mean, it was just a rundown, crappy area.

So Trump builds the Trump International Hotel and Apartments Condos in Columbus Circle, somehow convinces John George to open his restaurant there, and it transforms the whole neighborhood.

All of a sudden, the neighborhood takes off.

Next thing you know, you've got the Time Warner Center and everything.
