Troy Loney

one of those in a while.

I miss the old penguins nights when Troy Loney would just back a van up to a loading dock at PBG paints arena.

And they'd empty out a closet of like old, like giveaway items from games.

And

And you always have a guy on who's that particular day you find a birthday and And it doesn't matter who it was.

What was it the other day? Troy Loney? Yeah, Troy Loney.

Yeah, so it could be a guy that was here for 15 minutes.

Four games.

And if there's multiple birthdays on a day, I'll try to rotate in.

But, you know, by going back and going over their best game.

So let's take, you know, a fairly obscure player like Troy Loney.

OK, so but but who assisted on the goal that he scored or who did he set up? So The Bossies, the Trottiers, the Potvans, the, you know, the Ziggy Paltys, they're going to get mentioned indirectly because they usually have a big part of those games anyway.

He was down to 10 to 12 minutes a game.

But those 10 to 12 minutes were aces, and he made Jagr better and he made Troy Loney better and he made Bob Erry better and he made Mario, like he made everybody better.

There was never a panic.

Hon-

Time now for our Islanders birthday of the day.

And Monday was the 63rd birthday of former Islanders winger Troy Loney.

The Bow Island Alberta native, 6'3", 215, a third round pick of the Penguins in 1982.

Scored 33 goals his last season in junior at Lethbridge.

But in the second, Ray Ferraro ties it for the Islanders.

And then...

With a little more than five minutes left in the second, our Islanders' birthday of the day, Troy Loney scores his first goal of the season.

His first goal as an Islander.

Yeah.

You know, guys like Troy Loney and Phil Bourque, they made a difference for us.

Rick Toc- Rick Tocchet was playing with a broken freaking jaw.

Oh, I remember that.
