Trowbridge

Let's start with The Mental and vocalist Dick Lucas.

Dick was born in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England, and formed the mentor with his brother Steve while in boarding school.

My brother Steve was the bassist, and we had Psy Kick on guitar, Tony on drums, and Toby on second guitar.

We all had boarding school together, and at weekends we'd go to Psy Kick's house, which was near Basing Stroke, and practice in his mom's garage.

So that's The Mental.

Now, Stupid Humans from Warminster, on the other hand, are made up of Bruce Treasure on guitar, Julian Newby on vocals, Herb on bass, and Andy Gale on drums.

Dick befriends Bruce and Julian at an Angelic Upstarts show in Trowbridge, and soon The Mental and Stupid Humans start playing shows together.

Not long after this, though, the mental breaks up.

But certainly the indication is that the questions asked and the answers given will form an important part of how they come to their conclusion.

David Curliss, the chairman of the parish council, told Alfred that contributions made during the public forum will help shape the council's formal response to Wiltshire Council, although the final decision on the application rests with the planning authority in Trowbridge.

People get to ask the questions that are causing them concern.

The planning proposers get to give their response and then it allows everyone to make a decision based upon the facts of the matter rather than unsubstantiated or emotive discussions.

The local authority based in Dorchester would continue delivering its existing services.

The same goes for Wiltshire Council operating out of Trowbridge.

The new authority, though, would concentrate on decisions affecting the wider region.

It's been under discussion for several years and was initially developed by Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire with BCP joining the partnership.

You need to be on a minimum of three months, but the longer the better.

And if you can do a year, that's fine." And I had a friend who ran a business in Trowbridge called Howard Travel, and he ran a campaign there for years and years and years.

He, he changed the messages every now and then so it didn't become wallpaper.

Um, uh, and he had a hugely successful business.

But to, um, what, what is being put forward, um, in, in the Rotron planning application.

Whatever happens over the next two Saturdays, the decision about whether the development can proceed rests with planners in Trowbridge at Wiltshire Council.

Councilor David Curless says Sedgley and Semley has no authority to approve or refuse the scheme.

We then need to examine that very carefully, uh, review what, uh, they are intending to do, and then put it to the vote and, and really see what, um, the councilors' opinions are on, on the matter and what sort of comments we may well, um, be having to put together to provide back to Wiltshire County Planning Department and let them know what our feeling is about that.
