Tropidelic

It got away from me.

From the cold streets of Cleveland comes Tropidelic, the high-energy force blending reggae, rock, funk, hip hop, and pure party vibes.

Formed in the mid-2000s at Kent State University by frontman Matthew Rhoads and friends, the band has spent nearly two decades building a grassroots following through relentless touring, explosive live shows, and a string of independent releases.

They've shared stages with acts like 311, Slightly Stoopid, and The Dirty Heads, landed albums on the Billboard reggae charts, and even host their own festival.

With a sound that mixes positive messages, tight grooves, and horn-driven energy, Tropidelic joins us now to talk about their journey, new music, and what keeps the party going.

There's nothing left for tears.

It's all what you believe in.

I can see that.

Barbarians of California.

Tropadelic.

Dirty Heads, if you're into that world.

snap case huge huge year for us and uh i think this episode picks up on on that and we haven't done like an album deep dive with a guest in a long ass time

It was a lot of fun.

And if you haven't listened to Tropidelic and you came here for the first time to hear us talk to Rex and talk about Tropidelic, we've got other stuff back there that's similar.

And we're all in on this scene.

It's a lot of fun.

And we really do enjoy the good vibes coming out of the Tropidelic camp.

Yeah.

Happy, friendly, good vibes.

We didn't mention he's the drummer.

I'm writing some stuff.

That podcast with Tropadelic got me psyched.

I learned some new guitar chords.

I was going to rock it out hardcore out here, but...
