If you have a card like Vigor for instance, that also has a damage replacement effect, where any damage turns into a plus one counter instead, and that can also create a very similar situation.

And for the record, this combo is also replicable with Triskelion in the place of the Walking Ballista slot.

In fact, we should point out here the famous Mike and Trike combo, where Triskelion combos with Machias the Unhallowed.

You remove its counters to deal some damage, and deal the last point of damage to itself, and Machias' trigger says whenever your creature dies, bring it back with an extra counter.

That will set you up to deal infinite damage to the table, or if you prefer, infinite death triggers since the Triskelion or the Walking Ballista keeps dying and coming right back.

That's kind of a lot of waffle, so basically I think I should just sum up that Ballista and Triskelion are pretty transparently the combo ringleaders here.

So if you want to definitely avoid combos in your plus one counter deck, then maybe make sure you're not running those.

But all the same, I see plenty of good reason to play a card like Walking Ballista in just a regular plus one counters deck.

They don't meet.

And so they walk into the Triskelion and he's like Tony Stark, Peter Parker, Peter Parker, Tony Stark.

And they have to have their conversation now, too, about, oh, what's what am I like in the other universe? And Peter's like, well, my Tony quit drinking a while ago.

And this is the second drink we've seen Tony holding today, because earlier when he was talking to Nick Fury, he had a martini.

And I've got to say, I just hate it when the comics steal from the movies.

They come up with an original thought.

Also, it's showing the Triskelion blowing up and it's like, okay, guys, come on.

We've all seen Captain America, Winter Soldier.

In- in, uh, Penny Dreadful usually are, like, delegated to, like, Ugin and, like, Triskelion and stuff like that.

And so eventually you get to a point where you have a lot of ways to get to the big stuff, and you have a lot of mana, but sometimes you draw part A and not part B.

Because basically, the aliens have won.

They've taken over the Triskelion or whatever.

What a weird thing.

Um, but the aliens have taken over this, the, uh, Triskelion, uh, Avengers mansion.

So I didn't really quite hit playables of my junky cards to have enough, so I ended up having to play a Nim Replica as, like, my 23rd card, which is just a random three mana 3/1 that you can also sacrifice to give something -1/-1.

I did have Grim Lavamancer, which felt really strong, and then I had Triskelion.

I got a late Triskelion, and I was like, "Well, this can also be a win condition."

This sounds like your perfect deck.

So the Peake was, like, essential to my sequencing, and, like, totally changed how I played that game.

Game two, Crimson sides into a second color and brings in a bunch of green, and I managed to control the early game pretty effectively.

I feel like I had stabilized, but then I made a mistake in the middle of the game, in that I, I tapped out for a Triskelion when I was at 17 life.

My goal isn't to ult.

Like, I'm not locking the opponent right down, right? I'm putting down Living Plane, and I'm getting an advantage from either Falling Star or Triskelion.
