So Tricia, help us understand these two different ways that we see within New Testament transmission.

Okay, well, let's remember what you said in the telephone game.

That's going to help us out a little bit.

So in the telephone game, you have a one-to-one transmission, right? You have one person whispering to the next person who whispers to the next person.

And so that's a one-to-one transmission.

Secondly, it is an oral transmission, not a written one.

Now, of course, there were oral traditions that some aspects of the New Testament were drawn from, but what we have are actual written documents.

So, Tricia, what are some things that we can kind of take a look at?

So if, if someone who's listening encounters an individual who says, "No, no, no, we've got the natural law," that completely debunks the possibility of miracles, how, how would we respond to that? Or, or maybe what's some of the background behind that worldview?

Well, they're in good company, and I think it's good for us to question, are miracles possible, because it connects di- directly toward...

It co- connects directly to, rather, the ultimate questions about life.

Like, is there a God? Is there anything external to this natural world, uh, that could actually supersede natural law, or who caused the natural law and therefore can intervene within it in his own unmistakable way? And if that person, that being, does exist, then that changes the game plan altogether, and it changes the possibilities of what could happen.

Hmm.

So, people who question, uh, the possibility of miracles are in good company with Charles Darwin.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That tells us what the underlying value that's universal is.

Even though the sole of shoe showing that is disrespectful to human dignity in one culture and not in another, the underlying value that both appreciate is the innate dignity of humans.

We may show it in different ways across different cultures, but that doesn't make the value subjective, only the expression of it subjective, okay?

Mm

... righteousness, uh, not only surviving, but flourishing in, in not only our nation, but the entire world.

And so people like you who step up and say, "Yeah, I, I'm willing to risk it," we call them, we call out the noble... character trait within them in doing so, and rightly so.

Because this moral law, this altruism, doesn't just make us survive.
