Something that would make us feel like a tribe.
PeterHOST

What I wanted wasn't destruction and mayhem, but the opposite, solidarity.

This book, to me, is basically explains why so many of Americans and Western people are on SSRIs, which is antidepressants now, and why so many of us feel so alone in today's world that's hyper-connected.

Yeah.
PeterHOST

I want to put the message out there, help people and then hopefully pay the mortgage at the end of it.
James GearingHOST
60:50

You get a much better... uh amount back because it is your book after all but it's just the the marketing side no one's putting it in bookstores for you so but when you hear a lot of these publishing companies really aren't unless you're Stephen King or you know JK Rowling then it kind of reframes so that's that's what I always tell people I'm not a veteran writer by any means but if you're not having luck with the traditional publisher then you know just put it out Amazon and put that money into marketing instead

Ernie AudinoHOST

17:21
Early on, there's maybe some political kind of stuff.
Ernie AudinoHOST
17:24
Ignore that.
Dale GarfieldGUEST

Love the Ryan Holiday books.

Another really good one that I've found a lot of value in in the past is Tribe on Homecoming and Belonging by Sebastian Junger.
Dale GarfieldGUEST
35:33
If you don't know who that is, he wrote the book that the movie The Perfect Storm is based on.
Dale GarfieldGUEST
