And it's just curious because...

I don't know if that was more Flanagan's idea.

I wonder, and this is my overarching theory.

I wonder if you had brought this up earlier in the episode and we talked about it offline as when, uh, Flanagan enters this overall deal with Amazon, with Trevor Macy and his production company, uh, they go and they pitch dark tower and Amazon is basically like, not yet.

Let's get there because that's the major thing that Flanagan has been, has been promising with this move to Amazon is that he's going to be the keeper of the dark tower.

And they attached what seemed like a dream team.

Mike Flanagan, the mastermind behind The Haunting of Hill House, along with his producing partner Trevor Macy.

And their pedigree in nuanced, character-driven horror seemed like a perfect match for the material.

It really did.

But the partnership dissolved because the streamer decided to go in a different direction.

Which is classic Hollywood speak.

Oh, yeah.

It is a masterclass in retaining creative sovereignty.

How did we get to Mike Flanagan has released an eight-episode Carrie miniseries? So, um, to remind everyone, in, in-- back in 2022, Mike and his, uh, produ- producing partner at the time at Intrepid Stu- Intrepid Studios, I can talk, Trevor Macy, who produced just about all of Mike's stuff, uh, they signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios, um, leaving Netflix behind, moving to Amazon.

That deal expired in 2025, but they re-upped it in 2025.
