Trevor Herriot

And I guess that brings hope for, you know, like the cycle to repeat, moisture to come in the wintertime, ice to build up, for it to melt, and so the wheel turns.

My name is Trevor Herriot.

I'm a writer and a naturalist, and I spend some of my time just trying to get people to understand what's happening to the environment and the ecology of the prairie.

I'm always amazed at how many times rivers show up in songs, folk songs.

Probably yapping at some dogs.

That's the challenge call.

Trevor Herriot wrote a book called River in a Dry Land.

In it, he travels the length of another river in southern Saskatchewan, the Capel.
