Trent Cotchin

This podcast came about-- I don't have time to do it, but I wanna share it with you.

I keep listening to a song I created based on an interview with, uh, the great Anthony Koutoufides, Carlton Football Club legend, um, did with Trent, Trent Cotchin, um, Trent Cotchin.

And there's a little clip where he talks about the fact that he was down in the dumps as a player, had played fifty games in the reserves, was really questioning whether he had the capacity to make it as a player back in about nineteen ninety-four, and he goes to see a sports psychologist.

He go-- the club sends him to a sports psychologist.

Now, I made a few notes on this because in that interview, the sports psychologist says, "I want you to get a diary, and I want you to write these words down.

I can, I will, you just watch me.

I can, I will, you just watch me." And so he talks about it in that interview, um, with Trent Cotchin.

It's so inspirational, and I thought, more that they are super powerful words sports psychologist Anthony Stewart gave to Ant Koutoufides in nineteen, uh, ninety-four.

He's also worked with some of the best midfielders in the modern game, this guy.

He was a coach at the Bulldogs, obviously, so he, uh, worked with Bontempelli, Dustin Martin, and Trent Cotchin at the Richmond Tigers.

He was an interim coach at St Kilda as well.

This guy is one of the highly respected names in the coaching landscape.

Um, he, yeah, I mean, he played with Dusty Martin, so [laughs] he played with, like, Trent Cotchin.

He, he got, he got a good go at it, so.

I think he ended up at the Bendigo Bombers.
