Trelawny Parish

I spent a lot of time in St. Mary's.

And Trelawny somewhat, because Trelawny is where my mom's from and St. Mary's where my dad's from.

So it was great times.

I really enjoyed it.

And I explained that to somebody last night on a call.

And Trelawny, those areas, they were devastated by Hurricane Melissa.

So here you are in the UK or Canada, and you had a big snowstorm or whatever, tornado storm that wiped out your house.

And your job, you can't work because the jobs themselves are recuperating.

think so.

I think there's like a thing around where I've been looking into like the histories of Jamaican music and also just in general like a connection to the Caribbean it's a lot about a relationship to like the outdoors or to the countryside or to like rural landscape yeah um and the area that like my family are from or my dad's side of the family Trelawny is like northwest in the mountains and in the hills and it's like this cover just really made me, it's a place I've never been to as well.

So I kind of like hear about it and I imagine what that is like.

So I guess through collecting some of this music and seeing some of the like imagery of it, I'm kind of like starting to piece together or like dream about what that place is.
