Tree planting

And this is something that, again, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has been doing for many, many years now.

Tree planting campaigns have been going on around the country and youths are given the um opportunity to go out um obviously learn the skill of planting a tree this is something that obviously not everyone has done um so you get to learn actually how to plant a tree and at the same time um you're you're getting the blessings from allah almighty have you

have you you've done it right i think a few times how was the experience how did it feel well what did you do what was the process

what was the process of planting a tree

I know, because of course, there's always these initiatives where you sign up or whatever.

How does that come about?

So usually... local councils or local charities, what they will do is they will announce it online usually that a tree planting session is happening and you can sign up as an individual or as a group.

Usually what the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association does is it will sign up as a group and then obviously we'll put out the information and everyone will join together.

The opening will feature an exhibition by Warrnambool-based artist Jimmy Buscombe entitled First Images.

Community groups and individual ratepayers will share in funding for tree planting across Moines Shire.

At its August meeting on Monday, Council has allocated $55,000 through its 2026-27 Council Community Carbon Offset Program.

The planting will be spread across the Shire including Panmure, Wongoom, Woolsthorpe, Narrandah, Mortlake, Koroit and Portferry.

Um, you said like, if you turn around, you'll see an app or something like that, which is hilarious.

But yeah, it looked like that was a huge plot of land that you were planting trees on.

Yeah.

Like this is not a, uh, a little like backyard farm.

City Parks and Zoo hopes the trees will inspire future generations to protect and grow the city's green spaces.

We're not planting trees, we're planting hope.

We're planting the future that the next generation will see these trees, and they'll be inspired to take care of them and to plant them.

So we're actually spreading a message today.

Yeah.

Two of my boys are coming down from Tree Planting.

They're heading over to Vancouver.

The season's over, and their drive, they're having to sort of, not in any great way, but they've been very conscious in having to dodge wildfires.
